Located on Palm Beach's only private island, the Tarpon Isle Residence underwent a comprehensive renovation led by one of South Florida's largest developers. The property ultimately sold for $218 million, and the entire project was designed and constructed on an accelerated 12-month schedule.
The challenge was to engineer and develop a 100-foot knife-edge pool, spa, and cold plunge for one of the most exclusive private residences in the country within that accelerated timeframe. The system needed to manage three independent water temperatures, remote subterranean collector tanks, and the hydraulic demands of a large knife-edge pool while delivering the precision, reliability, and performance expected of a property of this caliber.
Although the pool, spa, and cold plunge appear as three separate bodies of water, they were engineered as a single structural vessel. Each maintains its own independent water temperature while sharing the same continuous knife-edge overflow through a custom hydraulic system that separates and directs the water from each vessel to its own collector tank.
The private island location introduced significant construction challenges, requiring helical piles to be transported to the site by barge due to the lack of road access. A custom Palm Beach blue all-tile interior finish was also developed exclusively for this residence, creating a one-of-a-kind finish that will never be reproduced on another project.
Despite the accelerated 12-month construction schedule, the entire aquatic environment was engineered to deliver the level of precision, speed, and long-term performance expected of a $218 million private island residence, with rapid heating and chilling, consistent knife-edge operation, and the reliability demanded by one of Palm Beach's most exclusive estates.
