Challenge
Located on Palm Beach’s only private island, the property at Tarpon Isle underwent a comprehensive architectural renovation led by Todd Michael Glaser. As part of that transformation, the outdoor environment needed to be reimagined to match the scale, precision, and expectations of a highly refined waterfront residence.
The challenge was to develop a new pool, spa, and cold plunge that felt purposeful within the island setting while delivering the level of visual impact expected for a property of this stature. The pool needed to span more than 100 feet, maintain clean knife-edge conditions, and perform reliably in a demanding coastal environment, all while integrating seamlessly with the surrounding architecture and landscape.
Solution
The pool was designed as a long, linear knife-edge vessel that establishes a strong visual axis across the property and reinforces the horizontal relationship between the residence and the water beyond. Its scale and proportion give the pool a commanding presence while maintaining a restrained architectural expression appropriate for the setting.
A fully custom, all-tile Palm Beach blue interior finish was developed exclusively for this project, creating a water color that is both distinctive and tailored to the island environment. The spa and cold plunge were integrated as complementary elements, maintaining consistent materials, edge conditions, and detailing so the entire composition reads as a unified system rather than separate features.
Through careful coordination of design and engineering, the final result delivers a pool environment that performs at a high level while meeting the aesthetic expectations of a one-of-one private island residence. The project reflects a balance of scale, material precision, and technical execution appropriate for one of Palm Beach’s most exclusive addresses.
