Challenge
As part of a complete renovation of the residence, the existing water walls at the front entry had deteriorated after years of exposure to the coastal environment and required complete replacement.
The new water walls needed to become a defining architectural feature while complementing the home's modern architecture. Because the entry is enclosed by walls on three sides, the space naturally amplifies sound and creates unwanted echo. The challenge was to engineer a water feature that delivered a clean, modern aesthetic while operating quietly and providing long-term durability in the harsh coastal environment.
Solution
The water walls were engineered as fully enclosed, self-contained stainless steel architectural assemblies, resulting in a significantly quieter water feature than a conventional open water wall. Mirrored glass was incorporated to create a clean, contemporary aesthetic, while marine grade stainless steel provides the long-term durability required for the coastal environment. The result is a refined architectural feature that complements the residence while delivering quiet, reliable, long-term performance.
