This iconic Mykonos-style residence is widely recognized for its distinctive Mediterranean architecture and highly integrated pool environment. The client wanted to redesign and engineer the outdoor environment to better reflect the modern luxury villas found throughout Mykonos while preserving the character that made the property so recognizable.
The challenge was to modernize the pool and surrounding outdoor spaces by creating more usable deck areas for seating, lounging, and entertaining without losing the immersive relationship between the home and the water. The redesigned environment also needed to improve circulation while remaining true to the property's unmistakable Mykonos identity.
The renovation focused on rebalancing the relationship between the pool and surrounding deck space to create a more functional outdoor environment while preserving the home's iconic Mykonos character. Areas previously occupied by water were converted into usable deck space, improving circulation and creating dedicated areas for seating, lounging, and entertaining.
A new sun shelf was introduced and furnished with three daybeds inspired by the luxury resorts of Mykonos, bringing a more contemporary Mediterranean feel to the backyard while creating a comfortable space to relax within the pool itself.
The result is a modern interpretation of the original design that remains true to the property's architectural identity while providing the functionality and outdoor living experience expected of today's luxury residences.
