Challenge
Set on more than an acre in Southwest Ranches beneath a canopy of mature live oak trees, this project involved the complete design and engineering of the outdoor living environment for a new architecturally designed custom residence.
The challenge was creating an outdoor environment that complemented the architecture of the home while working within the constraints of the existing live oak trees. Preserving the mature tree canopy became a primary design consideration, requiring the layout of the outdoor spaces to be carefully developed around the existing trees without compromising the functionality or overall vision for the property.
Solution
The design was developed to maximize the potential of the property while preserving the mature live oak trees that define the site. The pools, landscape, hardscape, and outdoor amenities were carefully arranged to create functional gathering spaces while maintaining a strong relationship with the architecture of the home.
The engineering was developed alongside the design, allowing the grading, drainage, structural systems, and aquatic infrastructure to be fully coordinated before construction. Throughout construction, we continued to support the project through construction administration, working with the contractor to answer technical questions, review submittals, and resolve field conditions as they arose.
The result is an outdoor living environment that feels purposeful, functional, and well integrated with both the architecture and the existing landscape.
