Challenge
The client wanted to integrate his Lamborghini into the pool environment in a way that allowed the vehicle to physically enter and exit the pool without being damaged. This immediately pushed the project beyond visual design and into a highly technical problem involving both aquatic engineering and automotive constraints.
The pool needed to function as a normal swimming pool while also accommodating a vehicle with extremely tight tolerances, sensitive materials, and strict dimensional requirements. The challenge was not only structural and hydraulic, but mechanical: water exposure, ramp geometry, clearances, load paths, and material interfaces all had to be resolved so the pool worked for people and the car simultaneously.
Solution
Smart Aquatics developed the pool design and engineering around the operational requirements of the vehicle as much as the requirements of the pool itself. Exact vehicle dimensions, approach angles, ground clearances, and weight distribution were verified, including direct coordination to confirm manufacturer specifications. These inputs informed the pool’s geometry, ramp slopes, entry depth, and structural detailing.
The pool structure was engineered to support vehicle loads without compromising the vessel, while water levels, edge conditions, and drainage were coordinated to prevent prolonged water contact with sensitive components of the car during entry and exit. Materials and finishes were selected and detailed to withstand both aquatic conditions and repeated vehicular interaction.
By treating the car as an active, functional element rather than a static display, the design and engineering resolved a highly unconventional requirement into a fully usable system. The result is a one-of-a-kind pool that operates as intended for swimming while allowing the client’s Lamborghini to move in and out safely, exactly as envisioned.
