Challenge
Exuma Azul began with an ambitious vision: create a private, adults-only luxury resort built around a completely unique guest experience rather than a conventional Caribbean hospitality model. The challenge was translating that vision into a cohesive design that blended architecture, water, landscape, and hospitality into a destination unlike any other.
Solution
The resort was designed around a collection of immersive aquatic environments, each offering a unique guest experience. Guests can stay in beach-entry lagoon bungalows, over-water bungalows, or private beachfront villas with dedicated pools, allowing every accommodation to engage the surrounding water in its own way while contributing to a cohesive and distinctive resort experience.
The property's signature swimming pool serves as the architectural centerpiece, extending into the beachfront with an acrylic viewing panel that creates a dramatic visual statement. A dedicated wellness pavilion featuring hot spas and cold plunges further expands the guest experience, complementing the resort's diverse collection of aquatic environments.
At the heart of the resort, a custom flamingo sanctuary was designed as the property's defining attraction, featuring an interactive pond and free-roaming flamingos that become part of the guest experience throughout the development. Together, these aquatic, architectural, wellness, and natural experiences create a one-of-a-kind luxury destination that is both cohesive and distinctive, delivering an immersive resort experience unlike any other.
