Designed for a high-profile recording artist, this Southwest Ranches estate features an expansive resort-style outdoor environment centered around an extensive collection of pools, water features, and fountains. The scale of the project required engineering far beyond a conventional residential pool.
The challenge was engineering a private residential project at a scale more commonly associated with a luxury resort. The size of the vessels, the number of aquatic features, and the complexity of the overall system demanded the same level of structural, hydraulic, and MEP coordination typically reserved for commercial aquatic facilities, while still meeting the architectural expectations of an ultra-high-end private residence.
Because of the size and complexity of the project, the engineering was developed in Revit, a Building Information Modeling (BIM) platform that creates an intelligent three-dimensional model of the project rather than a series of independent 2D drawings. This approach provides a significantly higher level of coordination and accuracy, allowing complex structural and MEP systems to be developed with greater precision and giving the project team a clearer understanding of how every component fits together before construction begins.
The engineering addressed the large-scale vessels, extensive hydraulic infrastructure, and specialized water features throughout the property, resulting in a level of technical coordination more commonly associated with large commercial developments than a private residence.
