Challenge
Located directly on the beach in Golden Beach, this luxury custom residence features a vanishing-edge pool and multiple integrated water features developed as part of a highly detailed architectural vision by a renowned project team.
The challenge was engineering multiple aquatic features distributed throughout the property while also meeting the client's desire for a swimming experience that felt much closer to fresh water than a conventional pool. The project required close coordination with the architect and broader design team throughout the design process, along with the development of an alternative sanitization approach that reduced reliance on traditional pool chemicals while still providing reliable long-term water quality for a vessel exposed to the harsh coastal environment.
Solution
The vanishing-edge pool and surrounding water features were fully engineered in coordination with the architect and project team, with the structural, hydraulic, and MEP systems developed to support the level of detail required throughout the property.
A reduced-chemical sanitization system was developed specifically for the main pool to create a water quality experience closer to fresh water while maintaining reliable long-term operation. Equipment and materials were also selected with the coastal environment in mind to account for continuous exposure to salt air and other harsh beachfront conditions.
The result is a highly refined aquatic environment that delivers the water quality experience the client wanted while meeting the technical demands of a complex oceanfront residence.
